We are able to offer flexible bulk transportation for many of our standard delivery products. This option is utilised by, for example, the metal processing company Boliden Harjavalta.   Bulk transport contributes to maintaining the company’s production processes and maximising efficiency in the following ways:

Bulk transportation ensures sufficient materials and uninterrupted production processes. The storage silo of the Harjavalta factory has a real-time surface measurement system, which automatically communicates to us and the transport company the need to fill the silo. The tanker arrives to pick up the shipment from our factory and delivers it to Boliden’s silo before it runs out.

Thanks to bulk transport, the operation does not generate any plastic or pallet waste, unlike when using material in big bags. This means a significant reduction in the amount of waste, especially in the case of high-volume products and materials.

Storage of materials in a large silo eliminates the need for storage of bulk containers, benefitting Boliden with an increase in storage capacity.

Abandoning the handling of material in big bags also improves safety at work. Skipping the step of having to open big bags to feed the material into the silo reduces both crane traffic and dust.

In addition, bulk transport leads to direct cost savings, as the company does not need to invest in the equipment and systems required to handle bulk containers.
